We visited this luxury resort in the Maldives: it is the first Emerald creation in the Maldives, a 5* resort suitable for families with children and young couples.
HOW TO REACH IT
Located in the northern part of the Raa atoll, this luxury resort in the Maldives can be reached in two ways:
By seaplane in 40 minutes from Male
With a 30 minute domestic flight and a 5 minute boat transfer
Its proximity to the Emerald Faarufushi allows for a perfect combo of these two luxury resorts in the Maldives: one is about 30 minutes away by boat from the other. Dividing the stay between Emerald Maldives and Emerald Faarufushi is definitely an option to evaluate.

The luxury resort in the Maldives Emerald Maldives represents an excellent compromise on several aspects: it is the right balance between authentic and modern, it is suitable for both families and young couples, it is equipped for large families and for people with some mobility difficulties and it has a variety of cuisine that can satisfy any type of clientele.
THE ISLAND
The island of this luxury resort in the Maldives is medium in size and houses 60 beach villas and the same number over water. The vegetation is thick and dense and the beach is very deep on the sunset side. The reef surrounds the island only on one side but is quite rich in fish and coral
THE VILLAS
The Emerald combines tropical landscapes with modern design, creating atmospheres of natural and informal elegance, providing the ideal environment for guests to build new and memorable experiences.
As anticipated above, the 120 villas present are divided into two main solutions: half are located on the beach and the same on the water.
Their modern style can also be seen in the materials used in the water villas: their structure is in concrete and the furniture is characterized by light colors alternating with details in bamboo and natural stones. In each villa there is a walk-in closet and a bathtub for two people.
Both the beach villas and the water villas boast various options: the first, the simplest one with only the sunbeds and umbrellas in front of it, the second with a private swimming pool and the third with a jacuzzi located in the garden (or on the patio in the water villa).
This luxury resort in the Maldives also boasts two “presidential” villas: one on the beach with two floors and the other at the end of the jetty with a sunset-side pool. Both have a kitchen (home chef service is provided).
Given the long jetty of the water villas and the size of the island, the Emerald Maldives resort provides the latest generation bicycles to each guest. In case you don’t want to use them, the Buggy service is always active to move around the island.
THE RESTAURANTS
The restaurants present at the Emerald Maldives are the same as those of the Faarufushi and included in the deluxe all-inclusive formula.
AQUA RESTAURANT
The main restaurant of the resort is open for all meals: located on the beach in front of the access point to the reef, it offers a rich buffet with cooking stations dedicated to the most famous international cuisines. The restaurant is beautiful with a roof made entirely of bamboo and light blue chairs and sofas.
BEACH AND GRILL
Open for lunch and dinner, it is located next to the Sunset Pool café: its light cuisine provides an excellent choice of salads and grilled fish or meat suitable for lunch. The kids menu like at Faarufushi is present in every restaurant for both lunch and dinner.
AMAZON
Inspired by the Brazilian Churrascharia, it has an excellent choice of meat and a varied and accurate wine list. The location is very suggestive being immersed in a real garden under a bamboo roof illuminated by red beaded chandeliers in the shape of jellyfish.
This restaurant is only open for dinner and is obviously included like all the others in the Emerald’s all-inclusive package.
THE ASIATIQUES
Located in the central area of the Resort, within an authentic tropical forest, this restaurant is the perfect choice for guests who wish to discover the tasty and delicious creations of Asian chefs. Here too, as at Faarufushi, there is a Teppanyaki grill for oriental show cooking.
EMERALD MALDIVES EXPERIENCES
There are so many experiences that can be had in this luxury resort in the Maldives since only the list of excursions is much richer than in other resorts.
Dolphin kids club
Open all day for children aged 3 to 12, it is an excellent solution for those who want to enjoy a few moments of romantic relaxation with their partner without “sacrificing” their child. The Kids club has a large garden with swings and games outside while inside it has a restaurant and various activities organized by the staff.
The Emerald Spa
Built in perfect Balinese style, it offers treatments of all kinds in its 10 air-conditioned bungalows. Its structure is very reminiscent of Indonesian temples with gardens and ponds in every corner where nature and peace are the absolute protagonists.
Gym
This area includes a latest generation Technogym gym, 2 tennis courts (1 of which can be converted into a football pitch), 2 padel courts and the possibility of having personal trainers able to guarantee personalized workouts.
Water sports
The Water Sport Center offers guests: Hobiecats, kayaks and windsurfing equipment under the supervision of the Waters Sport Team. Motorized water sports are available at an additional cost
As for the organized excursions, I found many specific snorkelling to book: the one with turtles, with manta rays, an aperitif on a deserted island and other incredible experiences at decidedly excellent costs, especially considering the level of the resort itself.
Diving Center
Diving offers guests of the resort the opportunity to take a course to obtain the Padi patent. The costs of the dives vary according to the number of dives performed: they start from 77 usd up to 90usd excluding taxes. The greater the number of dives booked, the lower the cost of each trip.
FINAL CONSIDERATIONS
The Emerald Maldives is one of the closest solutions to a resort I’ve ever found in the Maldives. Here you will find any type of comfort and service and you will be pampered in every corner of the island. The colors of the lagoon are nothing short of wonderful and the horizon free from any construction is something magical.
However, my favorite solution remains the combo between Emerald Maldives and Emerald Faarufushi because with a simple 30-minute transfer you have the opportunity to experience two different islands in this splendid paradise.
